Characteristics and Applications
The weld metal is of the 18Cr-12Ni-2Mo grade with a stable austenitic structure. It offers excellent heat resistance, crack resistance and weldability. Thanks to its molybdenum content, it demonstrates superior corrosion resistance to substances including acetic acid, sulfurous acid, phosphoric acid and salts. It is suitable for components in the chemical industry and power engineering, as well as for welding steels such as SUS316.
Precautions
1.The shielding gas to be used shall be 98%Ar + 2%CO₂ with a gas flow rate of 15–25 L/min.
2.A well-shielded, draft-free environment must be ensured at the welding site to prevent shielding gas dissipation and the occurrence of welding defects.
3.Oil stains, moisture and other contaminants on the welding area must be completely removed prior to welding.
4.For non-consumable electrode wire filling welding processes such as TIG, plasma arc and laser welding, the shielding gas shall be 99.99% pure argon.
