Characteristics and Applications
MSM-WER70S-6 is a gas-shielded stranded solid welding wire suitable for carbon steel and high-strength steel of ≥490MPa grade. It features large weld penetration, excellent welding operability, low fume emission, smooth and stable electric arc, as well as superior non-destructive testing performance. This wire also boasts good low-temperature impact toughness. It is widely applied in ship repair and construction, marine engineering, pressure vessels, petroleum pipelines, steel structures and other fields.
Notes
1.Weld with DC reverse polarity (DC).
2.Owing to its deep penetration, the weld leg size can be reduced and the deposition metal filling volume can be decreased, thus cutting down costs.
3.Adopt CO₂ gas with a purity of over 99.5% or a mixed gas of 80%Ar + 20%CO₂ as shielding gas, with a flow rate of 15–25 L/min.
4.For multi-pass welding, the interpass temperature should be controlled within the range of 100–150℃.
5.When using non-consumable electrode filler wire welding processes such as TIG, plasma arc or laser welding, the shielding gas shall be 99.99% pure argon.
