Characteristics & Applications
The weld metal has a composition of 18Cr-12Ni-2Mo and features a stable austenitic structure, with excellent heat resistance, crack resistance and weldability. Thanks to its molybdenum content, it exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance to acetic acid, sulfurous acid, phosphoric acid, salts and other substances. It is suitable for components in the chemical industry and power engineering, as well as for welding SUS316 and other similar steels.
Precautions
1.The shielding gas to be used shall be 98%Ar + 2%CO₂ with a gas flow rate of 15–25 L/min.
2.The welding site must be well sheltered from wind to prevent the dissipation of shielding gas which may cause welding defects.
3.Oil stains, moisture and other contaminants on the welding area must be completely removed.
4.When performing non-consumable electrode filler wire welding processes such as TIG, plasma arc welding or laser welding, the shielding gas shall be 99.99%Ar.
